Beautiful pair of old European cut diamond stud earrings. These diamond studs are very simple and classic. The old cut diamonds are set in a delicate eight claw platinum setting. The base of the setting, the post, and the scroll backs are 18 carat gold. The diamonds are little fireballs with the wonderful very small table and high crowns that are seen in older cut diamonds. The diamonds date to around the around the 1880s - 1910s.

I had 3 pairs of these, all of which came together and were a perfect match to each other. We don't know the original story behind them sadly. The other two sets have sold and this is the last available pair.

Diamonds: 2, old European cut, approx 3.6 mm - 3.7 mm each, estimated in setting as 0.44 carats total weight, I / J colour, SI clarity.

Hallmarks on scrolls only. The diamonds are set in platinum claws and the rest of the setting is 18 carat red / rose gold. The scrolls are more modern replacements.

Measures 4.1 mm wide and rise approx 4.95 mm tall.

Weigh approx 1.18 grams together.
