SOLD. Sorry, this item has sold.

Wonderful antique diamond horseshoe pendant. Twenty-five diamonds in a mixture of old mine cut, single cut, and rough rose cuts are set in an elegantly curved horseshoe design. The diamonds are slightly graduated in size and are set so they tilt toward the outer edge. This is an excellent design allowing the diamonds to sparkle in the light. The diamonds are set into shared platinum claws and the solid back, which touches the skin, is yellow gold. This piece has been converted at some point in during it's approx 130 year life. A double bail, commonly balled bunny ears, have been attached to the top centre. Circa 1880s - 1900 diamond horseshoe, date of conversion unknown.

In good condition. It's been converted and there are some light scratches to the gold on the back. A couple of the diamonds have minor abrasions, not visible to the naked eye.

Diamonds: 25, mixture of old round cut and more roughly cut rose cuts, approx 0.33 carats total near colourless and eye clean as calculated within the limits of the mounting.

Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 14 carat gold with platinum claws. The back is yellow gold and the bail, which was added later, is 14 carat white gold.

Measures approx 25.1 mm / 1 inches tall including the integral bail by 18.2 mm 0.72 inches wide.

Weighs 2.5 grams.

Sold without a chain.
