Antique spider pendant crafted in 9 carat gold. This large pendant features a diamond shape frame with a large spider to the centre. The wire work spider is wonderfully designed with eight perfectly bent legs, gold pedipalps, a seed pearl set thorax, and a paste set abdomen. The bezel set paste is a beautiful aquamarine blue in colour and is lined with a milgrain beaded edge. This is a larger size spider, a great size for wearing as a pendant! Circa early 20th century, British in origin.
In very good condition, minor abrasion to the paste in keeping with age and wear.
Paste: aqua blue colour and round cut, approx 6.3 mm in diameter.
Seed pearl: silvery grey, approx 2 mm in diameter.
Stamped 9ct on the back, professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold throughout. The gold is rose in colour.
Measures approx 25.7 mm / 1 inch in tall not including the bail, by 19.50 mm / 0.77 inches wide.
Weighs 1.8 grams.
