Striking antique diamond single stone band. This signet style ring is set with an old cut diamond in the centre of a prominently engraved star. This design is flat on the top, hence signet style, with the rest of the band crafted in just a slightly narrower pipe profile.
This ring would have originally been a man's, either worn as a wedding ring, or more likely, as a signet or pinky ring. We think it's a great style, easy to wear, an eye-catching ring that's just a bit different. Circa early 20th century, 1910s, British in origin.
In very good condition, just slight age related marks from regular use and wear.
Diamond: old cut measuring approx 2.7 mm, estimated as 0.07 carats.
Hallmarked for 9 carat gold, assayed in Birmingham 1919. The colour is a warm rose, between modern yellow and rose gold, closer to rose gold though not as pink in colour.
Size: UK - R; US - 8.5; EU - 18,8. Sizes taken from centre, depending on finger shape a wider ring may require a larger size than a more slender ring. As an example, I wear about 1 - 1.5 UK sizes (about 0.5 - 0.75 US sizes) larger for wider rings. This ring can be sized between O / 7.25 / 17,5 and U / 10.25 / 20. Sizing available for an additional fee.
Measures approx 8.6 mm wide by 1.5 mm deep at top, tapering to 8.2 mm wide by 0.80 mm deep at back centre.
Weighs 6 grams.
