Antique floral engraved locket dating to the early 20th century. This locket is oval in shape and ornately engraved. The front features a garland of flowers and leafs following the oval outline with a large bow at the top. The back is adorned with a coordinating floral design and a coin edge around the very edges of the front and back gives this piece a little extra decoration. At the top is a little scroll design which holds the bail. Circa 1910s.
In very good condition. Inside the locket are two frames and two plastic covering. There is a small repair to the bail visible under close inspection. The locket closes well and is in very good wearable condition with minor wear in keeping with age and use.
Stamped 9ct Front and Back. The engraved section on the front and back is 9 carat gold, which is yellow in colour. The frames and internal section are a brass alloy for strength. Also stamped Reg No 611533, we can track the registration number to being issued in 1912.
Measures approx 36.3 mm / 1.43 inches tall not including the bail by 23.1 mm / 0.91 inches wide.
Weighs 4.7 grams including frames and photo coverings.
