Antique 15ct gold safety pin. This simple 15k gold safety pin is made from a heavy gauge 1.4 mm wire. It's an older, less common style which is sprung at one end to allow it to catch in it's clasp and secure the sharp end. Antique safety pins have a variety of modern uses from being a simple brooch to securing a shawl or scarf (perfect for those winter months!) or on the end of a chain to lengthen it and give a place to secure charms. It would also make a great tie pin, simple and classy. Circa late 19th century, British in origin.

Stamped faintly as 15ct. Professionally tested and assessed as 15 carat gold. The gold is between yellow and rose in colour as British antique gold often is.

Measures approx 37.25 cm / 1.48 inches long by 7mm / 0.28 inches tall.
