Delicate amethyst lavaliere necklace dating to the early 20th century. Graduated amethysts drop from a fine gold chain. The purple gemstones are incredibly bright and are accented by incredibly fine milgrain edge bezel settings. They are articulated on either side of the bar allowing them to move a bit as the wearer does. This is a lovely, delicate piece set with bold, sparkling stones. Amethyst is the birthstone for February. In ancient times amethyst was believed to help with prevent drunkeness. We haven't tested this theory, but it can't hurt to wear just in case! Circa 1900 - 1910s, British in origin.

Stamped 9ct on the side of the bar of the drop. Professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold.
